A Bear Called Paddington

We went to our first movie as a family today to see Paddington at the State Theatre for just 25¢ a person. Laura and I loved it. Sophia liked it, except when she howled in fear during the scenes where the bear was wrecking the house. She was mostly worried that he was going to get in big, big trouble.

Laura and I agreed not to explain Nicole Kidman's taxidermy plot against Paddington...

When we came home, Laura looked up the age recommendation on Common Sense Media. They suggest age 6 is appropriate for this movie. Oops. I don't think she's too traumatized though. She's been talking about Paddington since the movie ended:
"Wouldn't it be funny if I put a spoon of peanut butter in my ears?"
"My baby doll's parents don't want her to have a bath, so I am going to lick her clean instead. Sssslllurrrp!"...

(We parents are the ones who should be fearful...)

By the way, I learned two things at the movie theater today:

1. If you stay until the end of the credits, you'll see the "Press Play/Setup/Extras" screen for the movie as the curtains are closing.

2. The clean up crew uses a leaf blower to push the popcorn down to the front row for easy clean up.
